High Intensity Discharge Lights

We now carry the complete line of hid lights and hid conversion kits from Lumens.  Lumens hid kits are easily installed and will boost the light output of your headlights up to 300%.

Because the light source in Lumens hid bulbs is precision aligned to maintain the same point source your existing halogen bulbs use, the light beam maintains the correct path and beam dispersion properties of the existing lights.  This keeps the beam on the road and not blinding oncoming drivers.  Many lower quality hid kits suffer from this problem because the light source is not in the designed position within the headlight assembly.

What are HID Lights?

HID stands for High Intensity Discharge.  Regular light bulbs including halogen bulbs use an electric current to burn a filament in the bulb and produce the light.  This also produces a lot of heat.  HID lights utilize a ballast to increase the cars 12 volts up to 23,000 volts.  At this voltage an arc of electricity forms in the hid xenon bulb igniting the xenon gas in the bulb and producing an intense light like the sun.  This light is much brighter and whiter then regular bulbs and uses less energy.  In fact a 35W xenon high intensity discharge bulb produces up to 3 times the light output of a 55W halogen bulb.

This type of lighting technology has been used for years in higher end vehicles like BMW’s and Mercedes and now with HID conversion kits from iTint you can have them in your car too.

iTints hid conversion kits consist of the ballast, two hid xenon light bulbs, and the necessary wiring harness to connect to your vehicles electrical system.  The hid bulbs should always be handled in the same way a halogen bulb is handled by never touching the glass bulb itself. HID conversion kits can be installed fairly easily and full instructions are included with each kit.  If you’d rather avoid the hassle we can also install them for you.

HID Headlights

Headlamp conversions basically involve changing out the bulb in the headlamp assembly with the new xenon high intensity discharge bulb.  The hid ballast then connects to the 12 volt supply line that previously went to the bulb.  The output of the ballast then goes out to connect to the hid xenon bulb in the headlamp assembly.  No aiming should be needed as long as the headlights were already aimed to begin with and you use Lumens laser aligned xenon bulbs.

Every hid conversion kit comes with everything you’ll need to install the system except for the tools.  If your uncomfortable under the hood of your car then let one of our technicians install the system for you.  Either way your going to love driving at night with Lumens high intensity discharge lights on your vehicle.
